PEOPLE® Names Wonderful No. 1 on 100 Companies That Care List

This is the most significant ranking list in the U.S. that annually honors employers that have shown remarkable care for their people, their communities, and the planet.

Lynda and Stewart Resnick, co-founders of The Wonderful Company, have always believed in the power of business to be a force for good, especially in the communities where our employees and their families live and work. This philosophy has created a culture of caring that extends beyond the workplace and into the communities central to Wonderful’s day-to-day operations.

In August 2025, that commitment earned national recognition when PEOPLE® magazine named Wonderful the No. 1 Company That Cares. The achievement marked a significant leap from the company's third-place ranking in its debut on the list just last year.

This is the most significant ranking list in the U.S. that annually honors employers that have shown remarkable care for their people, their communities, and the planet. Wonderful achieved this incredible recognition out of thousands of U.S. companies, ranking ahead of American Express, Walmart, Delta Airlines, Nvidia, Capital One and Cisco, and many other Fortune 100 enterprises.

PEOPLE® recognized Wonderful for the broad and innovative ways the company and the Resnicks, along with their foundations give back – totaling more than $2.5 billion invested in education, health and wellness, community development, sustainability, and more. Among those efforts, PEOPLE® spotlighted our Wonderful Career Pathways program, which empowers students to obtain an associate’s degree upon graduating from one of seven partner high schools in the Central Valley. Students also receive critical work-based learning experiences by participating in job shadows, career workshops, and paid internships at Wonderful. Since 2018, more than 1,600 students have graduated from the program with an associate’s degree.

This ranking is especially meaningful because it was determined by input from confidential, anonymous employee surveys that provided firsthand accounts of the company’s culture, leadership, and relationship with employees. Topping the PEOPLE® list follows Wonderful's consecutive recognition on Fortune® magazine’s coveted 100 Best Companies to Work For list and as one the Best Places To Work in the Central Valley by Best Companies Group.

This recognition is a testament to Wonderful’s 10,000-person workforce for taking part in our mission of making a positive impact on our world. Over the past decade, The Wonderful Company and the Resnicks, along with their foundations, have committed over $1 billion in the Central Valley, home to more than 3,000 of their employees. Wonderful offers free health care services to its full-time workforce in the Central Valley, including preventive care, physical therapy, prescriptions and more. Every meal served at its onsite cafeterias is fresh, nutritious, and cooked from scratch. They also support 5,000 students across 70 schools, including two public charter schools the Resnicks founded, and over 1,000 Wonderful Scholars, many of whom are employees’ children, with tutoring, academic coaching, emotional support, up to $40,000 each in college scholarships, and more.

Together, we have built something truly unique in Wonderful, united by our commitment to doing well by doing good.
